In Loving Memory

Obituary

Charles Donald Wallace, better known as Donald, was born July 12, 1949 to Charles B. and Isabelle Wallace in Prince George's, Maryland. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Prince George's Hospital Center.

Donald grew up in Washington D.C., graduating from Eastern Senior High School in 1967. In 1969, he joined the Air Force, serving for four years. Shortly after his service in the Air Force, Donald worked as a printer in the Government Printing Office for 42 years before retiring in 2012.

In retirement, Donald spent his leisure time listening to "oldies" music, keeping his mind sharp with crossword puzzles and Family Feud, watching his favorite westerns and cooking or grilling out on a nice day. He was a long time Washington Redskins fan and watched every game yelling at the TV. Donald loved to dance and sing also. There wasn't a day that went by without him blasting music and singing along. Donald may be most remembered for his generous heart. If in need and he had it to give, it was yours. Donald's presence will be greatly missed.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Barnett-Wallace, parents Charles B. and Isabelle Wallace, and sister Evelyn Washington.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, seven children, Anita (Chris) Mitchell-from previous marriage, Lakeisha Taylor, Hampton Taylor, Cornell Taylor, Dominique Barnett-Wallace, Donnell Barnett-Wallace and Davon Barnett-Wallace; four grandchildren, Desirae Mitchell, Alyssa Mitchell, Raymond Mitchell and Keyon Miller; three Brothers, Warren (Louise) Wallace, Earl (Cheryl) Wallace, James Wallace and Charles Wallace; two sisters, Betty Spruielle and Barbara (Robert) Sharpe; brother in-law, Carl Washington; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
